Scotland Just Announced An Indefinite Ban On Fracking
January 28, 2015, thinkprogress.org | “The Scottish government has announced that it will place a temporary ban on the controversial practice of hydraulic fracturing, better known as fracking, the Guardian reported Wednesday.”
Yes! Go Scotland!Just moments ago we got word that Fergus Ewing, Scottish minister for energy, stood before the Scottish Parliament and said “I’m announcing today a moratorium [open-ended ban] on the granting of planning consents for all unconventional oil and gas developments.”There’s still work to do to turn this temporary ban into an outright ban, but for now this is brilliant news!
